I’ve found another food spot that’s satisfying enough to be worth your while – Pelagio Bar & Restaurant at Festival Mall Alabang! It’s a fusion of Filipino-Mexican cuisine your whole family will love and enjoy!

Pelagio Bar & Restaurant is located on the ground floor of the mall near the water garden. It’s run by a husband and wife tandem who both worked in restaurants abroad. Finally decided to open their own restobar a year ago. It may have a small dining area currently but Chef Pelagio III Manalang has bigger plans in the near future.

I’m not particularly excited when it comes to Mexican food simply coz it has a reputation for being very spicy and my tummy doesn’t agree with some spices. But, I haven’t reviewed many Fil-Mex cuisines so I gave it a go. Not many resto will allow your order to be customized especially when you request for fewer chili peppers, in short, less spicy for me, please.. lol.

As soon as I sat down, the smell of their “chicharrones” deep fried chicken skin overpowered my senses, lol.. The Sharing Basket includes the chicharrones, corn tortilla chips, mini quesadillas served with guacamole and salted egg dip.

The marinated thin sliced liempo was served with pico de gallo and your choice of salsa.

ahhh Nachos… my whole family dig this Mexican appetizer. At Pelagio Bar & Restaurant, you can choose your own salsa from sweet to hot or very hot! For me, best paired with Margarita or beer!

One of my fave is this Chicken Quesadilla. Cooked whole chicken, adobo style, deboned, melts in your mouth!!! Yummy! I think I finished 3 tortillas! Yaiks!

You’ve got 3 Agua Fresca choices that are not your usuals – Calamansi Honey, Watermelon Mint and Horchata, all for just P75!

But, I went with the Margarita, lol. It was still early for it, but, since I had the Nachos, it’s a perfect pair! I told Chef Pelagio to tone down the alcohol coz I still had some errands to do after.

Overall, I was full and satisfied though there are others in the menu that I haven’t tried, so I will definitely come back with the whole family.
