The “IT Bag” – Save My Bag takes center stage as Kiana Valenciano x Daryl Feril collaborated to form a new fashion revolution! The collection was launched last April 28, 2016 at the Little White Box Pop-Up store, the style portal for various international brands, at SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City.
It’s always an exciting treat for me whenever I go to fashion events especially ones which involves bags, watches, shoes and everything nice, hahahaha. Ain’t it obvious that I love ’em all?! LOL
Anyway, if you’re not familiar with Save My Bag, well, it’s the ultimate ‘IT’ bag crafted entirely in Bergamo, Italy specially designed by husband and wife tandem Stefano and Valentina Agazzi. I’ve seen them in SM Department stores and really liked the Poly-Lycra fabric material coz it’s lightweight, soft, rain proof, high quality and perfect for any occasion.
The story behind this new collaboration is to create a collection that’s totally chic and trendy. After studying at the Raffles Design Institute and the prestigious Central Saint Martins in London (where the likes of Stella McCartney and John Galliano matriculated) and already an Instagram celeb in her own right, Kiana is excited to plunge into the glamorous world of fashion, armed with her knack in trend spotting and her fresh, free-spirited yet functional attitude.
“The ‘cool beyond the rules’ philosophy of Save My Bag really fits my personality,” Kiana relates. ”And it’s this kind of mindset that I applied to this collection, along with the spirit of close creative teamwork.” And for her most anticipated debut, Kiana takes on the reigns as style curator and creative team captain of the Little White Box Pop-Up Store, which offers a special, purely bespoke Save My Bag Collection.
Joining her team is Daryl Feril, internationally acclaimed illustrator and his sample creations as seen on the bags exhibited during the event. Daryl worked with top global brands and design studios in Asia, USA and Europe (among them LVMH and Tory Burch) and has been featured in Juxtapoz Magazine.
For this collection, Daryl turned each and every bag into a unique canvas — allowing him to express his artistry freely. “My idea is that, you can carry art through the different bags,” Daryl shares. “Each bag in the collection features different illustrations, thereby making them bespoke.”
“I also wanted the collection to be close to my illustration style, which is a burst of floral, taking inspiration from nature which has some of the craziest patterns, colors and creatures,” he continues. “And as this is a collaborative effort, I took in inputs from Kiana too.”
Love, love, love those floral and butterfly illustrations especially on this plum and blue bags, my two favorites from the collection.
Here’s another fave that I’m sure fashionistas out there will also go ga-ga. Its simple design is perfect for any attire, be it rugged, casual or formal.
Gee, even the shopping bag is stylishly luxurious! You may want to keep even this in perfect shape coz of Daryl Feril’s design and signature.
By the way, in case all the pre-designed bags are sold out, you can buy the plain versions and have them hand-painted by the master Daryl Feril. Artwork pricing vary depending on the bag size and design choice, ranging from Php995-Php2980.
Got my own Save My Bag (yay! thank you so much!) and I’m thinking to have it illustrated with of course none other than flowers and butterflies! I would have to bring it back to Megamall though coz it’s only there that you can have it done by the Master himself. I think, there’s a 1 or 2 weeks waiting time before you can pick it up.
If you happen to be near the area or if you’re a bag-aholic like me (lol), don’t miss Save My Bag and Kiana Valenciano x Daryl Feril collection at the Little White Box Pop-Up store at the 3/flr Bridgeway at SM Megamall. Hurry though coz the bags are selling like hotcakes!
Thank you, Save My Bag, Kiana Valenciano and Daryl Feril for allowing me to witness your awesome collaboration/collection!
